Trainings

The trainings are divided in so-called Peace Trainings and Advocacy Trainings. The Peace Building Trainings take place one time per year and are implemented by an international trainer. Within the trainings the participants shall gain an overview of both the common definitions of peace as well as conflict resolution mechanisms. Additionally, the women shall elaborate on alternative peace building strategies which include women’s perspective.

One significant criterion of the trainings is that the connection between peace building and sexualised gender based violence will be highlighted. The women shall elicit where in their surrounding they are already involved or could be involved in the peace building processes. By learning the common language in connection with conflict management they shall be enabled to discuss with institutions and politicians on these issues.

The Advocacy Trainings will be implemented one time within the three years project period. They shall give the women an overview of general advocacy tools and of entry points for advocacy work on German and EU level. For the latter the executive director of ISIS Europe will give an introduction into the advocacy work on Brussels/EU level and informs the women about the institutions, organisations, and key persons who can be contacted best in order to advocate for the support of women’s rights within their countries. The trainings will also be used for creating concepts for the project’s advocacy activities; the knowledge gained can be applied when realising these activities.
