Network Activities

The networks activities have the aim to strengthen already existing women’s networks within the countries and also aim at establishing networks works between the three countries and between Afghanistan, Liberia, and the DRCongo and both the European Union as well as Germany.

In all three countries the project coordinator works together with a network, which also aims at the participation of women in the peace and security sector and which deals with the topic of sexualised gender based violence. The network will support the project coordinator in organising and planning both two national network meetings per year as well as the advocacy activities.

Within the network meetings the participants – consisting of women from the medica mondiale/PAIF offices and women from the network – will discuss on how to realise women’s rights and the implementation of UNSC Resolution 1325 and 1820 in their countries. Furthermore, they will plan their participation in several advocacy activities and will choose the topics which will be discussed in meetings with politicians and political institutions.

On international level there will be two network meetings, one in Kosova and one in Germany. The latter will take place in 2011 in Cologne and will offer the opportunity to jointly review and analyse the already implemented activities and to plan future advocacy events.
