Projects

Since 1993, we have supported traumatised girls and women in war and crisis zones in twenty countries – in some cases by setting up our own centres, often with the help of partner organisations on the ground.

At the moment, we are actively supporting the rights of women in various projects in nine regions. We have set up medica mondiale therapy and women’s centres in Albania, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Kosova and Liberia and thus provided comprehensive support for women. With our help, these centres developed into independent women’s organisations in Bosnia, Albania and in Kosova, which we continue to support and advise. In countries where we are not represented through our own project centres, we work with partner organisations based on the ground to support projects in the medical, psychosocial and legal fields. This type of project funding is mostly for a limited period of time, with average subsidies amounting to 5,000 euros. This co-operation may lead to long-term project co-operation with much larger subsidies.
