Medical treatment and health advice
Project support in Lumley, Sierra Leone
At the advice centre in Lumley, women and girls who have survived sexualised violence receive psychosocial support and advice from the women’s organisation Graceland Counselling Services (GLCS). Since January 2006,with the aid of medica mondiale, GLCS has been offering women regular medical treatments and health advice. Women who are suffering from fistulas in the urogenital area as a result of violence can at last receive medical and surgical care.
This basic health care will fundamentally improve the women’s quality of life and thus enable them to have a more positive future.
