Creation of a safe house network

Project support in Poipet Province, Cambodia

Seminar on violence and women’s rights

medica mondiale supports the women’s organisation Strey Khmer in setting up and equipping 15 safe houses in Poipet Province in Cambodia close to the Thai border. Here, women who have survived violence can receive medical, psychological and legal support.

A network will be built up in the region. Strey Khmer wants to enable women to lead a free life without violence and to enjoy the protection of human rights. The organisation was founded in 1998 and is committed to helping women to participate in public life and in local politics.
