Project funds

medica mondiale supports women and girls in war-and crisis areas – regardless of their political, ethnic and religious membership – whose physical, emotional, social and political integrity was hurt. It is aim of our work to strengthen the self-healing power of the women and also to support their right to live a self-defined life and to call in for this right politically. The project fund "support for traumatized women and girl and survivors of gender based violence in armed conflicts and crisis areas" is acting worldwide and funds projects and measures taken in support of these women and girls.

Funding guidelines

The funded activities must range in the context of our charter. Direct and indirect beneficiaries of the projects applied for must be female survivors of gender based violence in areas of war and crisis. medica mondialetherefore supports particularly:

• Projects on medical and psycho- social support of traumatized women and girls
• Projects on training, further education and the creation of opportunities for women to earn their living
• Projects to improve the situation of nutrition, accommodation and legal rights
• Projects on establishing and putting through of human rights for women in war and crisis areas

Also being funded:

• Projects on the documentation and public information about the situation of the women and girls as well as about causes and backgrounds of violence against women in war and crisis areas
• Participation in conferences, further education and training courses
